Our first-ever rye whisky produced here at Macaloney’s!

Using locally grown rye (100% rye mash bill), it was fermented and distilled to Macaloney’s best practices methods to create a creamy mouth-feel and super fruity expression, and then matured in a Portuguese red wine 225L STR barrique.
 
Classic Canadian rye with sweet oak and rye spices, fresh ground black pepper, dried figs and dried apricot and geranium flowers, leading to caramel and vanilla fudge.

This is a big rye whisky with a rich and creamy mouth-feel. The sweet red wine develops to clove, cinnamon and nutmeg, black liquorice, roasted hazelnut and molasses. Together they are reminiscent of a festive season feast of mulled red wine with fresh baked rye bread, topped with light strawberry jam.
