Invermallie is our connoisseurs / collector’s edition. Like the flowing river Mallie, it is an ever-changing series of classic single malt expressions based on unique one-off single casks, or other special selections. With individually numbered bottles, it is sought after by those who appreciate fine whisky.
This Invermallie special release was crafted in a carefully selected Pedro Ximénez cask from Spain. The nose has classic Sherry notes, stewed plums, and fruit cake with oak wood, vanilla, and tropical fruits including lychee, peaches, orange zest, dried figs, and blackcurrant. The nose opens to encompass pot-pourri, linseed oil, marzipan, toffee caramel, and cocoa before finishing with refreshing sea breeze notes. The palate is silky and sherried with floral perfume, candied orange, more tropical fruit, dry oak and a hint of salt. The wood spices give way to dried apricot, cherries, and honey leading to deeper notes of roasted malt, cellar leather, and a dry oak finish. Wonderfully complex!
